Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukrainian military forces successfully targeted two vessels belonging to Russia’s shadow fleet in the waters near the entrance to Novorossiysk port. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the transportation of Russian oil.
In a message shared via Telegram, Zelensky stated, “Our warriors continue to impose sanctions against the Russian shadow oil fleet – two such vessels were struck in the waters near Novorossiysk port. These tankers were actively used for transporting oil. They will no longer operate in this capacity.”
The President expressed gratitude to Chief of General Staff Andriy Hnatov for his effective leadership during the operation, as well as to the Security Service and Naval Forces for their consistently valuable contributions.
Additionally, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine’s long-range capabilities will continue to develop comprehensively across maritime, aerial, and terrestrial domains.
This announcement reflects Ukraine’s strategic focus on undermining Russia’s oil logistics amid ongoing conflict.
