Ukrainian President Reports Casualties Following Russian Missile Strikes on Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that at least 83 individuals were injured during a significant missile attack on Kyiv. The assault, which occurred overnight, involved multiple strikes targeting residential areas and critical infrastructure.

In a video address, Zelensky condemned the actions of the Russian military, stating, “Putin can no longer even pronounce the word ‘hurrah’ properly—he stutters—yet continues to strike residential buildings with his missiles.” He specifically noted that three Russian missiles targeted a water supply facility, resulting in damage to a market and numerous residential buildings, as well as several schools.

Zelensky emphasized the necessity of enhancing Ukraine’s air defense capabilities, particularly against ballistic threats. He remarked, “Having Russia nearby is a constant threat; our people in Ukraine are managing to contain and stop this threat. However, the world must clearly understand whom they are dealing with. This is the fifth year of full-scale war, an unprovoked terrorist war waged by Russia against life itself. We are doing everything possible to establish peace and protect our citizens. It is crucial that Ukraine does not stand alone in this fight. We need support and decisive actions from the United States, Europe, and others to ensure that this old ‘Orèshnik’ in Moscow can finally pronounce the word ‘peace.'”

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the attack on May 24 involved a combined assault utilizing 90 missiles and 600 drones of various types, including the ‘Orèshnik.’ This escalation underscores the ongoing conflict and its impact on civilian life in Ukraine.

President Zelensky reported at least 83 injuries following a Russian missile attack on Kyiv, highlighting the continued threat to civilian areas. He called for enhanced air defense support from international allies amid the ongoing conflict.
