Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that the country’s new Fire Point drones have the capability to strike targets over 3,000 kilometers away. He stated that these drones have already been used to hit an oil refinery in Russia’s Tyumen region, located approximately 2,070 kilometers from Ukraine.
In an interview with TCN for the telethon “Unified News,” Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine has begun to shift the conflict back onto Russian territory this year. He remarked, “During the war, anger is a completely justified emotion of our people. But there must be something behind that anger. It cannot just be anger. Russians need to feel that the war must return to Russia, to the territory of the country that initiated aggression. This year, we have started to hurt them where it counts.”
Zelensky noted that two Fire Point drones successfully struck the oil refinery in Tyumen, demonstrating their operational range. He further indicated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces, along with the defense industry, are responding daily to Russian attacks and will continue to increase their countermeasures.
“We will go further because we understand where their military factories, oil bases, and gas storage facilities are,” Zelensky added.
He concluded by stating that Ukraine requires tools capable of conducting strikes at greater distances to enhance its military capabilities.
President Zelensky has announced the operational capabilities of new Ukrainian drones, highlighting their range and recent strikes in Russia. He emphasizes the strategic shift in the conflict, aiming to target Russian military infrastructure more effectively.
