Russian Forces Target Dnipropetrovsk Region with Drone and Artillery Strikes

On June 21, Russian military forces launched drone and artillery attacks on two districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, as reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Hanzha.

The Nikopol district was particularly affected, with strikes hitting the town center and the communities of Myrivska, Marhanetska, Chervonohryhorivska, and Pokrovska. Damage included private homes and vehicles, resulting in a 55-year-old man being hospitalized in serious condition. Additionally, a 71-year-old woman, a 29-year-old woman, a 39-year-old man, and a two-year-old boy are receiving outpatient treatment.

In Kryvorizhzhia, the cities of Kryvyi Rih, Zelena Dolyna, and Shyroka communities were also under fire. Hanzha noted that a barley field caught fire, and both a business and private residences sustained damage.

Russian forces have been consistently attacking Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure with various types of weaponry, including strike drones, missiles, and multiple rocket launchers. Ukrainian officials and international organizations classify these attacks as war crimes, emphasizing their targeted nature.

Attacks on essential services and healthcare facilities, aimed at depriving civilians of electricity, heat, water supply, communication, and medical assistance, are viewed as indicative of genocidal actions.

The Russian government denies that its military is intentionally targeting civilian infrastructure during the ongoing conflict, despite evidence of civilian casualties and destruction of hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and energy and water supply facilities.

Russian military forces have intensified their attacks on the Dnipropetrovsk region, targeting civilian areas and infrastructure. The strikes have resulted in injuries and significant property damage, raising concerns over potential war crimes.
