Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Armenia to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine, focusing on defense and energy initiatives.
During their discussions, Zelensky highlighted the contributions of the UK to the PURL program, aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities. He also addressed the current battlefield situation and the impact of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector.
“We emphasized the need for Europe to coordinate efforts and develop a unified air defense system to protect against threats from Russia,” Zelensky stated.
Zelensky expressed Ukraine’s readiness for the next round of trilateral negotiations aimed at achieving a just peace, underscoring the importance of the UK’s stance in maintaining pressure on Russia.
Additionally, it was announced that a dedicated session on Ukraine will take place during the upcoming European Political Community summit in Yerevan, reaffirming the mobilization and continued support from allies.
The 8th summit will gather heads of state and government from across the continent to address key issues concerning European sovereignty, including security and defense, economic competitiveness, and resilience against hybrid threats and misinformation.
