The Ukrainian Parliament has registered a new legislative proposal aimed at prohibiting paid services related to fortune-telling, magic, and other esoteric practices. This initiative, known as Bill No. 15251, seeks to impose administrative penalties for the provision of such services, as well as their advertising and promotion.
The bill was introduced by Georgiy Mazurashu, a member of the ruling party, Servant of the People. He recently led the formation of an inter-factional group called “Search for the Kingdom of God and His Truth,” which aims to address various societal issues, including the regulation of esoteric services.
According to Mazurashu’s assistant, Mykola Hunkov, the legislation is a response to a recent surge of public interest and concern regarding astrology and fortune-telling consultations. This heightened scrutiny follows media reports linking former presidential office head Andriy Yermak to a fortune-teller named Veronika Anikievich.

Reports indicated that Yermak consulted Anikievich on significant decisions, allegedly seeking her insights on various political candidates, including those for the position of Prime Minister and other key governmental roles.
