Ukraine is set to undergo significant weather changes in the coming days, transitioning from a warm spell to more typical spring conditions characterized by rain and cooler air. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has provided forecasts detailing these shifts.
According to meteorologists, from May 9 to May 11, the weather will vary considerably across different regions and days. An atmospheric front moving in from the west is expected to bring brief rain and thunderstorms to many northern and central areas, as well as parts of the east and the Carpathian region on May 9.
On May 10, another atmospheric front will lead to increased rainfall, particularly in Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kyiv, and later in Poltava and Sumy regions, where substantial rain is anticipated.
By May 11, most areas are expected to see a reduction in precipitation, although brief showers and thunderstorms may still occur in the east, southeast, and the Carpathians during the day.
The upcoming days will also bring cooler air from the northwest, leading to noticeable drops in nighttime temperatures, especially on May 11. Daytime highs are expected to decline across the country.
Weather Forecast for May 9
On Saturday, May 9, cloudy skies with occasional clearings are forecasted. Brief rain and thunderstorms are expected in many northern and central regions, as well as in the east and the Carpathians, while the rest of the country should remain dry.
Winds will be moderate, blowing at 5-10 m/s, with temperatures ranging from +20°C to +25°C in most regions. However, the western part of the country will experience cooler temperatures, ranging from +13°C to +18°C.
