Ukrainian Forces Target Russian Military and Oil Facilities in Leningrad Region

On June 5 and into the early hours of June 6, Ukrainian defense units launched strikes against several key military and logistical targets belonging to Russian forces. Among the affected sites were an oil depot and a terminal located in the Leningrad region.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported via Telegram that the “Peterhof” oil depot and the “Neste” oil terminal in Lomonosov, Leningrad region, were hit. Fires were observed at the facilities, and the extent of the damage is currently being assessed.

The “Neste” terminal serves as a crucial distribution hub for petroleum products, including gasoline and diesel, in northwestern Russia, with a storage capacity of 40,000 cubic meters for light petroleum products.

Additionally, during the night of June 6, Ukrainian forces struck the Russian Baltic Fleet’s naval base at Kronstadt, situated near St. Petersburg, approximately 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Russian authorities previously confirmed a large-scale drone attack on the Leningrad region and St. Petersburg. Regional governor Alexander Drozdenko stated that Russian air defense reportedly intercepted over 140 drones in the area.

Earlier, on the night of June 3, Ukrainian forces targeted an oil terminal in St. Petersburg, coinciding with the start of the International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which ran until June 6. Russian President Vladimir Putin participated in the event on June 5.

Furthermore, on the night of June 6, Ukrainian units struck an oil depot in the Krasnodar region of Russia. The Unified Dispatch Service of the Ust-Labinsky district confirmed drone strikes on the “Poltavskaya” oil depot, which resulted in a fire.

Ukrainian Security Service personnel, along with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces, also targeted the 15th arsenal of the Russian Navy in the Leningrad region during the same night.

Ukrainian defense forces have intensified their operations against Russian military and logistical sites, striking key oil facilities in the Leningrad region and the Baltic Fleet's naval base. The attacks coincide with ongoing tensions and military actions in the area.
