Ukrainian military units have intensified their operations against one of the key logistical routes utilized by Russian forces in the southern region, significantly undermining the supply chain for the occupying troops.
According to military sources, operators from the 3rd Separate Special Operations Regiment have established aerial control over a land corridor used by Russian troops traveling to the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Specialized drones have been systematically targeting and destroying enemy equipment while dismantling logistical hubs along the critical Melitopol-Chongar route.
“As a result of our units’ successful actions, the logistics of supplying the Russian army and fuel to the peninsula have been severely complicated,” stated officials from the Special Operations Forces.
The situation in Crimea has deteriorated significantly, transforming the peninsula into a de facto frontline zone. Recent strikes by Ukrainian drones on Russian oil refineries and fuel depots have led to strict limitations and fuel rationing on the peninsula.
Experts note that the extensive attacks on Ukraine’s fuel infrastructure have resulted in a decrease in oil processing volumes in Russia, bringing them down to levels reminiscent of the 2009 crisis. Fuel sales restrictions have even extended to gas stations in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Ukrainian military operations have effectively disrupted Russian supply routes to Crimea, exacerbating logistical challenges for occupying forces. Recent drone strikes have led to severe fuel shortages and restrictions across the region.
