Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced plans to establish an anti-ballistic missile system in collaboration with European nations within the next year. This initiative is already underway, with discussions taking place among several countries.
In an interview during a telethon on April 19, Zelensky emphasized the necessity of developing a European anti-ballistic system. He stated,
“I believe, and my idea is that we should have an anti-ballistic European system. We are talking to several countries, working in this direction, instructing our companies, and setting tasks. But we need to create our anti-ballistic system within a year,”
he said.
When asked about the feasibility of achieving this goal within a year, Zelensky responded,
“It is realistic. It is very complicated, but it is a matter of components,”

Regarding which EU countries might participate in this initiative, he noted,
“We have not spoken with everyone yet, but I have talked with key countries that I wanted to discuss this with.”
