In the early hours of April 20, a drone strike attributed to Russian forces targeted the residence of Sergey Beskrestnov, an advisor to Ukraine’s Minister of Defense. The attack resulted in injuries to Beskrestnov and significant damage to his home.
Beskrestnov reported the incident on his Facebook page, stating that Russian forces launched four Shahed rockets at him. He described one of the drones crashing into the wall of his house, leading to its destruction.
“This morning, the Russians attempted to kill me. They fired four reactive ‘Shaheds,'” Beskrestnov wrote.
Despite sustaining injuries, he expressed gratitude for surviving the attack. He noted, “I was hit, but the main thing is that I am miraculously alive. I was mentally prepared for such developments, and this will not stop me.”
Local authorities, including Mykola Kalashnyk, the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, confirmed the attack on the capital. They reported that a fire broke out in a residential building in the Brovary district, resulting in injuries to a 51-year-old local resident.
Sergey Beskrestnov, known by his call sign ‘Flash,’ was appointed as a technological defense advisor by Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov on January 25. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, he has been actively involved on the front lines, providing training to military personnel in areas close to conflict. His expertise includes radio communications, electronic warfare systems, and reconnaissance.
