Ukraine and Latvia Sign Drone Cooperation Agreement

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the signing of a Drone Deal with Latvia during a meeting in Estonia with newly appointed Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs.

Zelensky shared the news via Telegram, emphasizing that the agreement aims to enhance mutual defense capabilities and promote joint production initiatives. He noted the importance of Ukraine’s expertise in strengthening its partners, particularly those who have consistently supported Ukraine throughout the ongoing conflict with Russia.

“These are concrete measures to bolster our collective defense and cooperation. It is crucial that we build this systematic collaboration with those who have stood by us during the years of Russian aggression. Ukraine is committed to ensuring that every region in Europe has adequate protection against Russian threats,” Zelensky stated.

During the announcement, Zelensky also highlighted the need to maintain pressure on Russia to compel it to cease its military actions against Ukraine, calling for sanctions against Russia’s shadow fleet.

The Drone Deal represents a long-term collaboration between Ukraine and Latvia, focusing on expertise and assistance in safeguarding critical civilian infrastructure from large-scale attacks. This initiative follows similar agreements Ukraine has made with Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, with contracts set to last for a decade.

Ukraine has formalized a Drone Deal with Latvia to enhance defense collaboration amid ongoing tensions with Russia. The agreement aims to leverage Ukraine's expertise in protecting critical infrastructure and follows similar partnerships with Middle Eastern nations.
