Authorities in the Dnipropetrovsk region have identified three military personnel involved in a kidnapping incident, with two of them already facing charges.
The National Police reported that the soldiers were on duty at a local military recruitment center when they committed the unlawful act. Early in the morning, they encountered a man of conscription age on a deserted street. Under the guise of checking his documents, they forcibly abducted him and forced him into a van.
Inside the vehicle, the soldiers allegedly exerted psychological pressure and intimidation on the victim. His health deteriorated significantly during the ordeal, prompting a need for medical assistance. Instead of helping him, the soldiers abandoned him by a dumpster, leaving him in a vulnerable state. Notably, one of the soldiers, who held the position of a shooter-paramedic, failed to provide the necessary aid.
The victim was later hospitalized in critical condition. Following the incident, two of the suspects transferred to different military units, while the third remained at the recruitment center.
Currently, two of the soldiers have been charged under Article 146, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to unlawful deprivation of liberty or kidnapping. Additionally, the shooter-paramedic faces further charges under Article 135, Part 3, for leaving a person in danger. Authorities are preparing to announce charges against the third individual as the investigation continues.
