Civilian Casualties in Ukraine Conflict Exceed 17,400, Says Prosecutor’s Office

Over 17,400 civilians have lost their lives since the onset of the full-scale invasion, according to recent statements from the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office. Yuriy Rud, head of the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in Armed Conflict, provided these figures to reporters, highlighting the severe toll of the ongoing conflict.

In addition to the death toll, Rud noted that more than 43,000 individuals have sustained injuries during the conflict. Tragically, the war has also claimed the lives of over 700 Ukrainian children, with more than 2,400 others injured.

The prosecutor’s report further revealed that Russian forces have either destroyed or damaged more than 320,000 civilian infrastructure facilities. This includes approximately 86,000 residential buildings, over 5,000 educational institutions, more than 1,400 healthcare facilities, around 900 cultural sites, and upwards of 330 religious structures.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has resulted in significant civilian casualties, with over 17,400 reported dead and more than 43,000 injured. The destruction of infrastructure has also reached alarming levels, affecting thousands of homes and public facilities.
