The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has announced the country’s readiness to join the international initiative known as the “Coalition of the Willing,” aimed at supporting Ukraine.
Sandu emphasized Moldova’s commitment, stating, “Yes, we are ready to join the Coalition of the Willing.” She mentioned that Chisinau is currently discussing potential formats for participation with Ukrainian representatives, taking into account Moldova’s neutral status.
“We have discussed with the Ukrainian team how this can happen, considering our neutrality. However, we have already assisted, particularly in demining efforts,” she added.
The President also noted that Moldova is prepared to continue collaborating. “We are now ready to work on specific efforts that Moldova could contribute within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing,” she concluded.
The “Coalition of the Willing” is a coalition of over 30 countries, established in early 2025 at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
