Chinese Humanoid Robots Show Significant Improvement in Marathon Performance

Recent advancements in robotics were on display as over 100 humanoid robots participated in a marathon in China, demonstrating marked improvements in their performance compared to previous attempts.

Last year, many of these robots faced technical difficulties, with numerous models failing to start or complete the race. However, this time around, the majority successfully navigated the course alongside human runners, minimizing the risk of collisions.

The standout performer, a robot developed by Honor, a prominent Chinese smartphone manufacturer, completed the race in 50 minutes and 26 seconds. This time was notably faster than the world record set by Jacob Kiplimo in Lisbon just a month prior.

Despite the successes, the event was not without its challenges. One robot required assistance after colliding with a barrier just meters from the finish line.

In addition to the marathon, Honor is preparing to unveil its new line of smartphones, the Honor 600 series, scheduled for presentation on April 23. The devices are expected to be priced between 550 and 650 euros in Europe, depending on the model.

The upcoming smartphones will feature powerful processors, cameras with resolutions up to 200 megapixels, and a new silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 7000 mAh, promising enhanced battery life. Furthermore, the devices will incorporate artificial intelligence capabilities for video creation and rapid charging.

Chinese humanoid robots have shown significant improvements in marathon performance, with most completing the race successfully. The event also coincides with Honor's upcoming smartphone launch, featuring advanced technology.
