On Sunday afternoon, April 26, over 100 settlements in the Lviv region experienced power outages due to severe weather conditions. The outages were attributed to strong winds and adverse weather, prompting authorities to issue an orange level warning for the area.
According to local reports, a total of 103 settlements were affected by the power disruptions, with 21 completely without electricity and 82 experiencing partial outages. Emergency crews from Lvivoblenergo, the regional energy provider, are actively working to restore power, deploying 39 teams comprising nearly 170 specialists and 60 units of equipment.
In addition to power outages, the storm has caused significant damage, including fallen trees in the Lviv, Zolochiv, Sheptytskyi, and Drohobych districts. Local authorities reported that the wind had torn roofs off private homes in Zolochiv and a school in the Lviv region, with relevant services currently assessing the damage.
Regional Governor Maksym Kozytskyi urged residents to avoid approaching downed power lines, damaged utility poles, fallen trees, and advertising structures. He advised against attempting to repair electrical infrastructure independently and recommended contacting emergency services and energy providers for assistance. Residents are also encouraged to limit outdoor activities during the storm.
Furthermore, Kozytskyi emphasized the need for drivers to exercise caution on the roads, advising against parking under trees and other structures that could pose a risk during severe weather.
