Ukrainian President Zelensky Discusses Strategic Cooperation During Saudi Arabia Visit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed his visit to Saudi Arabia, where he is scheduled to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. This meeting aims to enhance bilateral agreements in security, energy, and infrastructure.

In a statement via Telegram, Zelensky emphasized the importance of mutual strengthening in these areas, noting, “I appreciate the substantive cooperation between our countries.” This visit follows Zelensky’s earlier trip to Saudi Arabia on March 26, during which Ukraine and Saudi Arabia signed a defense cooperation agreement.

Zelensky highlighted the significance of the Drone Deal, stating that agreements have already been reached with three key nations: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. He described this as a major initial step towards establishing long-term contracts that could span a decade.

Additionally, it has been reported that Ukrainian experts specializing in drone countermeasures are currently operating in the Middle East, including in Saudi Arabia. This collaboration underscores the growing defense ties between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia amidst ongoing regional security challenges.

President Zelensky's visit to Saudi Arabia marks a significant step in enhancing defense and energy cooperation between the two nations. The recent agreements indicate a strategic partnership aimed at addressing mutual security concerns.
