Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced his complete recovery following successful treatment for early-stage prostate cancer. This information was disclosed in an official medical report released by the Prime Minister’s office on April 24.
The annual health report, dated April 20, 2026, indicates that the 76-year-old Netanyahu underwent surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia on December 29, 2024. The procedure, performed at Hadassah Medical Center, was described as successful and without complications.
A subsequent routine MRI revealed a suspicious lesion measuring less than one millimeter in the prostate. Further diagnostic tests confirmed the presence of early-stage prostate cancer, which showed no signs of metastasis.
Netanyahu underwent radiation therapy, and the report states that the treatment was “entirely successful,” with the disappearance of the lesion confirmed through follow-up imaging and laboratory tests.
The Prime Minister noted that the publication of the report was delayed by two months to prevent Iran from potentially exploiting his health status for propaganda purposes amid ongoing conflict. “I decided to postpone the publication of the report so that it would not be released during the height of the war and be used by Iran for propaganda purposes. Today, I can say that I am in good health and excellent physical condition after the early-stage prostate cancer was completely removed,” Netanyahu stated.
