Mass Drone Attack on Ukraine: Kyiv Under Air Raid Alert

On the night of May 12, Russia launched a large-scale drone assault on Ukraine, triggering an air raid alert in Kyiv. Residents reported explosions as air defense systems engaged incoming threats.

The Kyiv City Military Administration urged citizens to seek shelter immediately and remain there until the alert was lifted. The threat from the air persisted as explosions were heard throughout the city, with drone groups approaching from the east.

Drone Movements

Ukrainian air forces monitored multiple groups of enemy drones heading in various directions. These groups were reported moving toward Sumy and then on to Chernihiv, as well as towards Kyiv near Brovary and Boryspil. Additional drone activity was noted in northern Kherson and eastern Mykolaiv, along with movements from Donetsk and southern Kharkiv towards Dnipropetrovsk.

A significant number of drones were detected in Chernihiv, heading westward.

Timur Tkachенко, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that debris from a drone fell on the roof of a 20-story residential building in the Obolon district.
