Ukrainian military units, including the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Special Operations Forces, have reportedly struck the “Tamannafthogaz” oil terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar region. This facility is noted as the largest complex for liquefied hydrocarbons in southern Russia.
The SBU stated that their drones successfully hit five storage tanks containing oil products and two oil loading stands at the terminal. Fires have also erupted in the vicinity of the terminal’s truck parking area and storage facilities. Additionally, the strike affected positions of Russian air defense systems that were protecting the site.
Independent verification of these claims has not been possible, and the Russian Ministry of Defense has yet to comment on the incident. Earlier, on June 13, Russian Governor Veniamin Kondratiev reported that a fire broke out at a maritime terminal in the Krasnodar region due to a drone attack. He indicated that the drones targeted the Temryuk district, resulting in one fatality and three injuries, according to preliminary reports.
Governor Kondratiev mentioned that 96 personnel and over 30 units of equipment, including resources from the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, are involved in firefighting efforts. Operational and special services continue to work at the scene.
Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, various sites within Russia and in territories occupied by Russia in Ukraine have been subject to aerial attacks. The Ukrainian General Staff has confirmed many of these operations, stating that Ukrainian defense forces are systematically implementing measures to diminish the combat capabilities of Russian occupying forces and to pressure Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.
Ukrainian forces have targeted a significant oil terminal in Russia, resulting in multiple strikes and fires. This incident reflects ongoing military actions as Ukraine seeks to undermine Russian military capabilities amid the ongoing conflict.
