In the early hours of June 14, Ukraine faced a significant assault involving 98 strike drones launched by Russia. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted the majority of these drones, although some managed to hit their targets.
The attack featured various drone types, including Shahed models, as well as others named Gerbera and Italmas, alongside imitation drones known as Parody. The drones were launched from multiple locations, including Bryansk and Orel in Russia, and from Crimea.
Ukrainian defense efforts included aerial support, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare divisions, and mobile fire groups. By 8 AM, reports indicated that air defense had downed or neutralized 91 drones across northern, southern, and eastern regions of Ukraine.
Despite the defensive measures, seven drones struck six different locations, with debris from intercepted drones falling in four areas. The Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning, stating, “The attack is ongoing; several enemy drones remain in the airspace. Please adhere to safety protocols!”
Ukraine's air defense successfully intercepted the majority of a large-scale drone attack from Russia, though some drones caused damage at various locations. The situation remains tense as the airspace is still under threat from additional drones.
