Ukrainian military units have successfully destroyed six drone launch sites in Pokrovsk, located in the Donetsk region. This operation was reported by RBC-Ukraine, referencing a statement from the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
The coordinated efforts of the 7th Air Assault Corps and the 4th Special Operations Regiment “Rangers” led to the elimination of these sites, which were primarily used for vertical takeoff and landing drones.
Among the targeted locations were facilities near a city café, a children’s goods store, a library, and a damaged residential building. These sites were utilized by Russian forces to conduct drone operations and to strike Ukrainian military positions, particularly targeting logistical routes.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces identified these targets through an analysis of enemy activities, employing strike drones of fixed-wing type for precise attacks.
In related developments, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that in May, Ukrainian forces liberated 100 square kilometers more than they lost. Since the beginning of the year, the total area of liberated territory has exceeded 600 square kilometers.
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the months of June and July could be pivotal in the ongoing conflict. He emphasized that decisions made at upcoming EU, G7, and NATO summits could significantly influence diplomatic negotiations and the conditions for a potential ceasefire.
Following unsuccessful attempts by Russian forces to advance toward Sloviansk, the focus has shifted to Donetsk, with Kostiantynivka now being the primary target of Russia’s spring-summer offensive campaign.
