Ukrainian Forces Push Russian Troops Back to Border in Kharkiv Region

Ukrainian military operations in the Velykoburlutskyi direction have reportedly forced Russian forces back to the state border, resulting in the loss of two settlements over the past month.

According to Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group, the situation has improved significantly. He stated, “The Velykoburlutskyi direction has returned to the state it was approximately a year ago.” This marks a notable shift in control as Ukrainian forces regain territory.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops continue to exert pressure on the eastern bank and are attempting to advance north of the city. However, these efforts have not yielded significant results. Trehubov noted, “They are currently ineffective and do not reach the city, but unfortunately, there are still a few ‘survivors’ within the city, as well as some individuals who managed to infiltrate about a month ago through a pipeline.”

In the Lyman area, combat operations persist, particularly around Borova, located north of Lyman. Trehubov emphasized that the Russian side is exaggerating its achievements in this region, stating, “They have completely misrepresented their successes there.” This claim suggests a disconnect between reported successes and the actual situation on the ground.

In the Vovchansk direction and the border area of the Sumy region, Russian forces continue to apply pressure, albeit at a diminished pace. Trehubov remarked, “They are no longer advancing but are simply trying to consolidate their positions in the border area where they currently are.” This indicates a potential shift in strategy as Russian troops reassess their operational capabilities in the region.

Ukrainian forces have successfully pushed Russian troops back to the border in the Kharkiv region, reclaiming lost territory. Meanwhile, Russian advances in other areas appear to be stalling, with claims of success being questioned by Ukrainian officials.
