Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that the country’s military leadership has thoroughly reviewed the plans of the Russian army and has established subsequent steps to counteract them.
During a recent meeting with military officials, Zelensky received detailed reports from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov. “We understand the priorities of the Russian army and have access to relevant maps and details. We are prepared to respond, and the necessary forces and resources have been identified,” he stated.
Zelensky also addressed the issue of sanctions and the ineffectiveness of diplomacy in halting Russian aggression. He emphasized the need for increased pressure on Russia to bring the conflict to a close. “We have agreed on our next operations; Ukrainian long-range sanctions will work to diminish Russian capabilities. Diplomacy alone will not bring us closer to peace; we need to exert pressure on the aggressor to end the war,” he remarked.
The President noted that a decrease in sanctions and political pressure from allies has partially contributed to the rising ambitions of the Russian side. In response, Ukraine is enhancing its capabilities, including the use of drones and the activation of military units.
Zelensky confirmed that a list of upcoming military operations has already been approved, along with the identification of immediate frontline needs that must be addressed promptly.
He expressed gratitude to Ukrainian servicemen for their efforts at the front and highlighted the significance of their contributions to the nation’s defense and the safety of its citizens.
