Ukraine to Receive Upgraded GURZA-2 Armored Vehicle with Advanced Features

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are set to receive the enhanced GURZA-2 armored vehicle, which is equipped with a camera system, mine protection, and integrated artificial intelligence.

This upgrade was made in response to military requests, with improvements including a reinforced independent suspension, replacement of certain components, and the installation of high-performance tires. These modifications have significantly increased the vehicle’s mobility and durability in challenging combat situations.

The armored body features a circular anti-shrapnel underbelly, enhancing protection for the crew, troops, and internal equipment from fragment impacts.

The total weight of the upgraded GURZA-2 is slightly over 18 tons, with a payload capacity of 2.5 tons. The ground clearance has been raised to 380 mm, and the operational range has expanded to 1200 km. It can reach a maximum speed of 110 km/h, and its mine protection system safeguards the crew against blasts equivalent to 8 kg of TNT.

The GURZA-2 can be configured in two variants: one with a rotating turret for armament and one without.

This specialized armored vehicle also includes air ventilation systems, heating, air conditioning, and an autonomous fuel heater. Additional features include fire suppression systems for the engine compartment and troop area, night vision capabilities, and a surveillance system with four cameras.

Moreover, the vehicles can be equipped with software for environmental monitoring using artificial intelligence.

In related news, Ukraine is also set to receive a hundred VAMTAC armored vehicles and 155 mm caliber ammunition from Spain, with the first shipments expected in early May.

The Ukrainian military will soon receive the upgraded GURZA-2 armored vehicle, featuring advanced protective and operational capabilities. This enhancement aims to improve performance in combat scenarios, alongside additional support from Spain in the form of armored vehicles and ammunition.
