Ukrainian Drone Unit Sets National Record by Destroying 61 Russian UAVs in One Day

The SIRIUS drone battalion of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade achieved a remarkable feat by destroying 61 Russian “Molniya” drones in a single day, setting a new national record for Ukraine.

According to the brigade’s report, this accomplishment not only surpasses their previous record of 44 drones but also raises the bar for all Ukrainian defense forces. The operation commenced at dawn, with the first drone intercepted at 4:10 AM and the last at 9:47 PM, resulting in an average of one drone downed every 17.5 minutes.

The crew operated continuously for nearly 18 hours, maintaining focus and energy despite the demanding conditions. They reported feeling no fatigue, attributing their endurance to the adrenaline and the constant search for new targets.

Military personnel noted that the enemy is increasingly using drones not only against military positions but also targeting civilian areas in frontline towns and villages. “Securing the skies and protecting our comrades and civilians is our top priority,” the pilots stated.

The brigade expressed gratitude to the crew for their historic achievement and acknowledged the contributions of “General Chereshnya FPV” for providing effective intercepting drones.

The SIRIUS drone battalion of Ukraine's 118th Brigade has set a national record by destroying 61 Russian drones in one day. This achievement highlights the ongoing aerial conflict and the unit's commitment to protecting both military and civilian targets.
