Ukraine Faces Renewed Drone Attacks as President Warns of Escalating Threats

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that over a hundred Russian drones are currently active in Ukrainian airspace, with additional waves of attacks expected throughout the day. He emphasized that these strikes are being aimed at critical railway infrastructure and civilian targets across various cities.

In a recent address, Zelenskyy detailed the specific areas affected by the latest drone strikes, which occurred overnight:

  • Residential and railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions;
  • Port infrastructure in Odesa;
  • Energy facilities in Poltava.

Throughout the previous day, 14 regions in Ukraine were under attack. Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted and neutralized 111 drones during the night.

The president remarked, “Each time the topic of war fades from the headlines, it encourages Russia to escalate its brutality.” He urged diplomats to expedite the implementation of agreements reached at the leadership level, stressing that Ukraine’s defensive capabilities are needed on a daily basis and that collective action is essential for ensuring security.
