In the early hours of June 23, Russia conducted a significant drone assault on Ukraine, deploying 135 strike drones. The attack featured various models, including the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and imitation drones known as Parody, which included jet variants.
The drones were launched from multiple locations, including:
- Orel
- Kursk
- Bryansk
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk
- Millerovo
According to preliminary reports from the morning of June 23, Ukraine’s air defense forces managed to intercept or neutralize 118 of the hostile drones. These included the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types, with debris from the downed drones observed in northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Despite the defensive efforts, 13 drones successfully reached their targets, impacting 11 sites. Additionally, debris from the intercepted drones fell in three other locations.
As of the morning, several enemy drones remained airborne within Ukrainian airspace. Authorities are urging the public to adhere to safety protocols and remain vigilant in response to air raid alerts.
