In the early hours of June 23, Ukraine faced a significant aerial assault from Russia, involving 135 strike drones, including models such as Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas. Ukrainian Air Force officials confirmed that their defense systems successfully neutralized 118 of these drones during the ensuing air battles.
The Ukrainian defense was bolstered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups. The report indicated that by 8:00 AM, the air defense had effectively downed or suppressed the majority of the enemy drones across various regions, including the north, south, and east of the country.
Additionally, the attack resulted in 13 drones striking 11 locations, with debris falling in three areas. As the assault continued, several drones remained active in Ukrainian airspace.
