Over 30 Companies Join Ukraine’s Private Air Defense Initiative

More than 30 companies have joined Ukraine’s initiative to establish private air defense units, according to the Ministry of Defense. These units have successfully intercepted over 20 attack drones in recent months.

Reports indicate that several private air defense groups are currently engaged in combat operations. They have targeted and destroyed a number of Shahed-type attack drones and Zala reconnaissance drones.

Additionally, military command confirmed that one of the groups has successfully neutralized a Shahed-type attack drone.

Since the launch of this experimental project, a total of 43 companies from various sectors and regions of Ukraine have applied to create their own air defense units. Among those that have received authorization to conduct air defense operations, approximately half are critical infrastructure operators, while the remainder comprises private sector enterprises.

Ukraine's private air defense initiative has seen significant participation from over 30 companies, resulting in the successful interception of numerous drones. This project reflects a broader effort to enhance the country's defense capabilities through private sector involvement.
