On June 1, weather conditions in Ukraine will vary significantly by region, according to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center. Central Ukraine is expected to experience a respite from rainfall, while other areas will continue to see fluctuating weather patterns.
Forecasters predict variable cloudiness throughout the day. Rain is expected in the eastern and western regions, as well as in Vinnytsia and Odesa. Thunderstorms are likely in the east, while the remainder of the country should remain dry.
Additionally, fog may develop overnight and in the morning in the eastern, northern, and some central regions, including Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and Odesa.
Wind speeds will be moderate, ranging from 5 to 10 m/s, with a northern direction in most areas and a southeastern direction in the Right Bank region.
Nighttime temperatures will range from 5 to 10°C, with coastal areas reaching up to 13°C. During the day, temperatures are expected to rise to between 15 and 20°C.
Weather in Kyiv
In the capital, the first day of summer will be characterized by variable cloudiness and no precipitation. Fog may occur outside the city during the night and morning hours.
Nighttime temperatures in the Kyiv region will be between 5 and 10°C, while daytime temperatures are projected to reach 15 to 20°C. In Kyiv itself, nighttime temperatures will be around 6 to 8°C, with daytime highs of 18 to 20°C.
Summer Outlook
Looking ahead, meteorologists anticipate that the summer of 2026 may be cooler and less hot compared to previous years. Forecast models suggest predominantly cloudy weather in Kyiv, with increased precipitation and average temperatures several degrees lower than in 2025, avoiding extreme heat above 30°C.
The summer is expected to feature unstable conditions, with June and July being rainy and relatively cool, while August may be somewhat drier but still experience moderate warmth and cool nights.
