Ukrposhta has launched a new self-service package pickup option aimed at minimizing wait times at its post offices. Customers can now retrieve certain packages from designated lockers within the branches using an SMS code.
The initiative involves the installation of quick-access lockers directly in post offices. Once a package arrives, customers receive a text message containing a unique access code, allowing them to open the appropriate locker and collect their items independently.
The company has indicated that a portion of packages will automatically be directed to this new pickup format. Traditional service options will still be available for those who prefer them.
Igor Smilyansky, the CEO of Ukrposhta, emphasized that this new approach is designed to streamline customer flow, separating those picking up packages from those utilizing other postal services.
“We have long sought ways to manage customer traffic… Testing is still ongoing, but it is already clear that you can pick up a package at Ukrposhta without waiting in line,” he stated.
Initially, this self-service option will be implemented in approximately 400 post offices across Ukraine, particularly in major cities and regional centers. In Kyiv and its surrounding areas, the pilot project is already underway with the installation of the first 120 quick-access lockers.
Ukrposhta has introduced a self-service package pickup system to enhance efficiency and reduce customer wait times. The initiative, starting in 400 locations, aims to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
