Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in the United Kingdom for an official visit aimed at strengthening ties and discussing critical security issues. His agenda includes bilateral talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and a meeting in the E3 format, which involves leaders from France, Germany, and the UK.
Zelensky announced his visit on social media, highlighting the importance of the discussions. He stated, “Today in Britain. We will have our bilateral talks with Keir and a meeting in the E3 plus Ukraine format: French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The teams have already worked substantively to prepare for all meetings. Now it is crucial to discuss and agree on key issues at the leaders’ level.”
The leaders are expected to focus on Ukraine’s defense, enhancing cooperation regarding air defense systems, and diplomatic strategies. Zelensky emphasized, “The main thing is our defense in the war, more cooperation for the security of all of Europe in the direction of air defense, and our shared view on diplomatic prospects: Europe must be involved in negotiations and must be strong.”
Additionally, Zelensky is scheduled to meet with King Charles III tomorrow. He expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom and its partners for their support in strengthening Ukraine’s defense and applying pressure on Russia to end its aggression. “Russia must end this war,” he stated.
