Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is anticipated to participate in the upcoming G7 summit scheduled for late June in France, according to reports from Politico citing informed sources.
Three separate sources indicated that Zelensky will join leaders from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States at the summit in Évian-les-Bains. This meeting is expected to focus on critical issues, including military diplomacy and air defense strategies aimed at countering Russian ballistic missile attacks.
Earlier in March, a French presidential advisor had stated that Zelensky would not be invited to the G7 meeting taking place from June 15 to 17. Politico noted that the spokesperson for the Élysée Palace, which is organizing the G7 gathering, has not yet responded to requests for comments regarding Zelensky’s attendance.
Additionally, European Commissioner for Economy Valdis Dombrovskis has announced that G7 finance ministers will discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine, the conflict in Iran, and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz during their meeting in Paris.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to attend the G7 summit in France, where discussions will focus on military diplomacy and air defense against Russian threats. This follows previous uncertainty regarding his invitation to the event.
