Ukrainian President Expands Military Command Structure

On May 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree that modifies the composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff. This change is outlined in decree No. 445/2026, which has been published on the official presidential website.

The updated staff now includes two key figures: Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and Oleksandr Zavitenvich, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence.

The decree takes effect immediately upon publication. Further updates on this development are expected.

President Zelensky's recent decree expands the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, integrating key government officials to enhance military oversight. The immediate implications of this restructuring may influence Ukraine's defense strategy.
