In the early hours of June 24, the Russian military launched a significant drone assault on Ukraine, deploying 101 strike drones, including the Shahed type, Gerbera, Italmas, and imitation drones known as “Parody.” Ukrainian Air Force officials reported that their air defense units successfully neutralized 95 of these drones during the operation.
The attack began around 6:00 PM on June 23 and targeted various locations across Ukraine, with drones reportedly launched from multiple regions including Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and occupied territories in Donetsk and Crimea.
As of 8:30 AM, Ukrainian defense forces, comprising aviation units, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups, had intercepted or suppressed 95 Russian drones across the north, south, and east of the country. Despite these efforts, six strike drones managed to reach five different locations, leading to debris falling in six areas.
“The attack is ongoing, and hostile drones remain in the airspace. Please adhere to safety regulations!” the Air Force urged.
