Authorities in Kyiv have apprehended five individuals in connection with the brutal murder of a 58-year-old man. The incident occurred near the riverbank on 6th Line Sadova Street, where the victim was found deceased with severe injuries.
According to police reports, the altercation began after a verbal dispute between the victim and one of the suspects, who were gathered near a café owned by one of the accused. Following the confrontation, the group attacked the man using their fists, feet, and a wooden stick.
Witnesses indicated that the assailants forcibly dragged the victim behind the café, where they tied him to a tree and continued to assault him. Despite the victim’s pleas for mercy, the attackers persisted in their violence.
After some time, the man managed to free himself and attempted to escape towards the river. However, the suspects caught up with him, knocked him to the ground, and resumed the beating. He succumbed to his injuries, including trauma to the head and chest, at the scene.
Law enforcement officials arrested the suspects under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They have since been charged, facing potential life imprisonment for their actions.
