Ukraine Intercepts Majority of Russian Drone Attack on April 23

In the early hours of April 23, Ukraine’s military successfully intercepted a substantial aerial assault involving 155 Russian drones, including various models such as Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 139 of these drones were neutralized during the operation.

The drones were launched from multiple locations within Russia, including Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, with approximately 100 of them identified as Shahed drones.

The defense against this aerial attack was coordinated by a combination of aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups from Ukraine’s defense forces. The Air Force reported that, as of 08:00, 139 enemy drones had been shot down or suppressed across northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.

Additionally, the Ukrainian military confirmed that 11 strike drones had successfully hit nine locations, with debris from downed drones landing in four separate areas. The Air Force noted that the attack was ongoing, with several Russian drones still present in Ukrainian airspace.
