Ukraine Enhances Road Safety with Anti-Drone Measures Amid Ongoing Conflict

Since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine’s State Special Transport Service has implemented anti-drone protection across 822 kilometers of roads in frontline regions, as part of efforts coordinated by the Ministry of Defense. This initiative aims to bolster logistics and ensure safer transportation routes for military and humanitarian operations.

According to Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, over the month of May alone, anti-drone systems were installed on more than 211 kilometers of logistical routes, while approximately 38 kilometers of damaged road sections were repaired. Additionally, specialists updated another 115.5 kilometers of roads in areas close to the front lines.

“This helps maintain stable logistics, rapid supply of necessary resources, evacuation of the wounded, and safer movement of troops even under the constant threat of drone attacks,” Fedorov stated.

Overall, the measures taken since the start of the year reflect a significant commitment to improving infrastructure critical for military operations. The installation of anti-drone protection not only enhances logistical capabilities but also aims to safeguard lives.

“Every protected kilometer means safer logistics and saved lives,” the Defense Minister emphasized.

Ukraine has significantly enhanced its road safety measures by implementing anti-drone protection along key logistical routes. This initiative is part of broader efforts to ensure the safety of military operations and humanitarian logistics in frontline areas.
