Ukraine Enhances Anti-Drone Protection for Logistics Routes Amid Ongoing Conflict

Ukraine is intensifying its anti-drone defense measures along logistics routes in frontline regions, having secured over 820 kilometers of roads since the beginning of the year. This initiative aims to ensure safer transportation of military supplies and personnel in the face of persistent drone threats.

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced that in May alone, specialists from the State Special Transport Service established more than 211 kilometers of anti-drone protection for critical logistics routes. Additionally, nearly 38 kilometers of protective structures have been restored on damaged road sections.

Simultaneously, repair works on roads in frontline areas are ongoing. In the past month, 115.5 kilometers of roads have been restored, contributing to improved access for military operations and civilian transport.

Fedorov emphasized the importance of these protective systems, stating that they are vital for maintaining robust logistics and facilitating the rapid delivery of essential resources to the front lines. This infrastructure also supports the safe evacuation of wounded soldiers and the secure movement of defense forces in an environment marked by the threat of enemy drone strikes. “Every protected kilometer means safer logistics and saved lives,” he noted.

Since the start of the year, the pace of infrastructure development has significantly increased. Currently, the State Special Transport Service has completed 822 kilometers of anti-drone protection on key routes. Furthermore, over 170 kilometers of road surfaces damaged by shelling and heavy machinery have been repaired in the frontline zone.

In early June, Russian forces began targeting the road connecting Kharkiv and Sumy, specifically near Bohodukhiv, which is located just 20 kilometers from the border. In light of these developments, drivers have been urged to exercise caution.

To further enhance both civilian and military logistics, the Ukrainian government has allocated an additional 3.5 billion hryvnias from the state budget’s reserve fund for urgent repairs of local roads. This funding is aimed at restoring critical road segments, as the condition of these routes directly impacts the speed of evacuating the wounded and supplying military units.

Ukraine is bolstering its anti-drone defenses along logistics routes to ensure safer military operations amid ongoing conflict. The government has initiated extensive repairs and enhancements to critical road infrastructure to support both military and civilian needs.
