Ukraine and Albania Sign Agreement to Enhance Transportation Links

Ukraine and Albania have formalized an agreement aimed at improving international road transport, facilitating regular cargo and passenger services between the two nations. This development is expected to create new logistical routes for Ukrainian companies.

Olexiy Kuleba, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, announced the agreement, highlighting its immediate impact on the liberalization of freight transport. With this agreement, Albania becomes the 37th country to establish a ‘transport visa-free’ regime with Ukraine.

The agreement is designed to enhance opportunities for the export of Ukrainian goods, streamline operations for transport providers, and foster the development of new transport routes through Southeast Europe. It also aims to improve transportation accessibility for citizens of both countries.

Kuleba noted, “Until now, there was effectively no direct mechanism for such transport operations between Ukraine and Albania. A comprehensive legal framework for passenger, cargo, and transit transport has now been established.”

The recent agreement between Ukraine and Albania marks a significant step in enhancing transportation links, allowing for more efficient cargo and passenger services. This initiative is expected to boost trade and accessibility for both nations.
