U.S. Navy Secretary John Falan Resigns, Immediate Succession Announced

The Pentagon has confirmed the resignation of U.S. Navy Secretary John Falan, effective immediately. This announcement was made by Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell on social media platform X.

While the reasons behind Falan’s departure were not disclosed, Parnell expressed gratitude for Falan’s service, stating, “On behalf of the Secretary of Defense and the Deputy Secretary of Defense, I thank Secretary Falan for his service to the Department and the U.S. Navy.” The spokesperson wished him success in his future endeavors.

In the interim, Deputy Secretary Hang Kao will assume the responsibilities of the Navy Secretary. This change follows a recent trend of leadership shifts within the U.S. military, including the earlier resignation of Randy George from his position as Chief of Staff of the Army, announced in early April.

U.S. Navy Secretary John Falan has resigned, with immediate effect, as confirmed by Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell. Deputy Secretary Hang Kao will take over his duties during this transition.
