Turkey is currently hosting the international military exercises EFES-2026, which involve participants from 45 countries. These maneuvers are conducted under the auspices of the Aegean Army Command.
According to a briefing from the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, EFES-2026 represents one of the largest joint and combined military exercises conducted by the Turkish armed forces. The exercises include both national units and military contingents, as well as observers from allied and friendly nations.
The exercises span various regions, including Western Anatolia, the Central Aegean region, the Izmir Gulf, and the Doganbey training area.
Scheduled to conclude on May 21, EFES-2026 aims to enhance interoperability among different military branches and strengthen defense cooperation among participating countries.
