Intense Fighting Continues in Ukraine: Russian Military Suffers Heavy Losses

On April 25, the Ukrainian General Staff reported a significant escalation in combat activities, with 236 clashes recorded over the past day. The Russian military reportedly incurred 1,070 casualties, bringing their total losses since the onset of the full-scale invasion to approximately 1,324,690 personnel.

The report highlighted that Russian forces conducted 86 airstrikes, deploying 261 guided bombs. Additionally, they utilized 6,849 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,634 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian positions, including 64 strikes with multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukrainian defense forces targeted 10 locations where Russian troops were concentrated, employing aviation, missile units, and artillery.

Frontline Situation

In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, Russian forces executed two airstrikes using six guided bombs and launched 119 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including 17 from multiple launch rocket systems. There were also six assaults reported in this area.

In the South-Slobozhansky direction, Russian units attacked Ukrainian positions seven times around Starytsia and towards Zybyn, Izbytske, Vovchansk, and Lyman.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces launched ten attacks near Novosynove, Kindrashivka, and towards Rad’kivka, Hlushkivka, and Novoplatonivka.

In the Lyman sector, there were 15 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses, with assaults directed at the settlements of Hrekivka, Novoyehorivka, Novoserhiivka, Zelenyi Hai, Stavky, Drobysheve, Dibrivka, and Lyman.

During the previous day, no attacks were reported in the Sloviansk sector.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked nine times towards Min’kivka, Nykyforivka, Bondarnyi, Fedorivka, and Markove.

In the Kostyantynivka sector, there were 27 assaults near Pleshchiyivka, Ivanopillia, and towards Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Rays’ke, Novopavlivka, Torets’ke, and Stepanivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 63 assault attempts by Russian troops towards the settlements of Bilits’ke, Dorožne, Rodyns’ke, Myrnohrad, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Vasylivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udačne, Novomykolaivka, Muravka, Novopavlivka, Novopidhorodne, and Molodets’ke.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces conducted four attacks near Oleksandrhrad and towards Kalynivske and Sosnivka.

In the Huliaipole direction, there were 14 attacks reported in the areas of Dobropillia, Tsvitkove, Pryluky, Olenokostyantynivka, Huliaipilske, Zelenyi, and Sviatopetrivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces thwarted two attempts by Russian troops to advance towards Prymors’ke and in the area of Stepove.

In the Dniprovsk direction, Russian units launched five assaults towards the Antonivskyi Bridge, Bilohrudyi Island, and Kruhlyky Island.

No signs of Russian offensive formations were detected in the Volyn and Polissya sectors.

Overall, Russian military losses for the previous day totaled 1,230 personnel, alongside the destruction of 13 armored combat vehicles, 29 artillery systems, 1,257 drones, 166 vehicles, and two units of special equipment.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine saw a surge in hostilities, with Russian forces suffering significant losses. The Ukrainian military reported numerous attacks and successful defenses across various sectors, indicating a continued escalation in the conflict.
