In the early hours of June 14, drone strikes targeted several locations in Russia, including a significant attack on the Novomoskovsk chemical plant “Azot” in Tula Oblast. The assault resulted in a fire at the facility, which is one of the largest chemical production sites in the country.
According to monitoring channels, the drone strike caused substantial damage, leading to a fire at the Azot plant, which specializes in the production of fertilizers, ammonia, nitric acid, and methanol. This facility also supplies materials used in the manufacturing of explosives and munitions.
In addition to the fire at the chemical plant, Tula’s governor, Dmitry Milyaev, reported that debris from the drones fell onto the grounds of an industrial site nearby, indicating the potential for further damage.
Reports also emerged of explosions in the Smolensk region, where it is believed that railway infrastructure in the city of Vyazma was affected. Additionally, a residential building in the city of Oryol caught fire, though details regarding the cause remain unclear.
This incident follows earlier drone attacks on a maritime terminal in the Temryuk district of Krasnodar Krai, highlighting an ongoing pattern of drone warfare in the region.
Recent drone strikes in Russia have targeted key industrial sites, including a major chemical plant in Tula Oblast, causing fires and damage to infrastructure. The attacks reflect a broader trend of escalating drone warfare in the region.
