Ukraine’s military has pinpointed 500 potential targets in Belarus, signaling a strategic response should the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko decide to engage in the ongoing conflict. This announcement was made by Colonel Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian drone forces, via a post on Facebook.
In his statement, Brovdi issued a warning to Lukashenko, stating, “A barking dog doesn’t bite. The predatory bird is different. The first 500 targets are already noted. A free and very practical piece of advice: don’t meddle with Ukraine.” This remark underscores Ukraine’s readiness to act if Belarus becomes more directly involved in the war.
Brovdi also referenced recent threats from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who indicated that Moscow might target Kyiv. He claimed that the Russian oil sector and military-industrial complex have already felt the consequences of Ukraine’s deep penetration tactics, urging Lukashenko to refrain from entering the conflict.
On April 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed concerns that Moscow was attempting to draw Minsk into the war. He noted that infrastructure developments were taking place in Belarusian border areas, including road construction towards Ukraine and the establishment of artillery positions.
Furthermore, on May 20, Zelenskyy highlighted that Russia was considering additional offensive strategies targeting northern Ukraine, specifically the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions, potentially launching attacks from Belarus and the Bryansk region.
