Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has commenced a working visit to the United Kingdom, where he is scheduled to engage in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The agenda includes discussions in the E3 format with the leaders of Germany and France, as well as an audience with King Charles III.
Zelensky stated that his team has made significant preparations for the meetings, which will focus on key issues that require leaders’ consensus. He emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s defense amid ongoing conflict, advocating for increased cooperation to enhance security across Europe, particularly in the area of air defense, and a unified diplomatic approach towards resolving the crisis.
The upcoming meeting with King Charles III is also a notable aspect of Zelensky’s visit, reflecting the UK’s continued support for Ukraine. Zelensky expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom and other allies for their tangible efforts in bolstering Ukraine’s defense and applying pressure on Russia amid its aggression.
“Russia must end this war,” Zelensky asserted, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
In December 2025, Zelensky, Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz convened in London, where they agreed to intensify economic pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and highlighted the need for a “just and lasting” peace for Ukraine.
This week, German officials announced a potential “window for dialogue” between Europe and Russia regarding the situation in Ukraine, reiterating that the E3 group—comprising Germany, France, and the United Kingdom—will continue to play a significant role in this process.
