Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged the global community to intensify political and economic pressure on Russia to achieve real security and end the ongoing war. He emphasized that decisive actions are necessary to halt regular Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities.
Zelensky stated, “All these attacks must be stopped. We only need sufficient support for our defense and continued pressure on Russia.” He called on world leaders and partners to activate all available means of influence, including long-range sanctions and economic restrictions.
According to the president, the combination of Ukraine’s long-range sanctions and those from allies must effectively pressure Russia to secure lasting peace. “Only pressure will work for peace,” he asserted.
In Dnipro, efforts are underway to address the aftermath of a recent Russian drone attack. A significant fire broke out at a New Post logistics terminal due to the assault, engulfing nearby vehicles as well.
Emergency services are actively working to contain and extinguish the blaze, deploying about 70 firefighters, 40 police officers, and nearly 30 units of specialized equipment. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries from the incident.
On May 31, Russian forces targeted Dnipro with a drone strike, leading to a large fire at a logistics company’s warehouse. The facility’s first section was completely destroyed, but no employees were harmed. Dnipro’s mayor, Boris Filatov, confirmed that residential buildings in the area were unaffected.
Additionally, on the same night, Russia launched a massive aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying 229 various types of attack drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and imitation drones. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted and neutralized 212 of these hostile UAVs.
