The United States is currently engaged in constructive negotiations with Iran regarding a new nuclear agreement. However, U.S. officials are deliberately taking their time with the signing process, believing that patience is advantageous.
According to the American leader, the ongoing talks with Tehran are more organized and professional than previous discussions. He has instructed his representatives to proceed cautiously.
“I have told my representatives not to rush into an agreement while time is on our side. Both sides need to take their time and get it right. There can be no mistakes!”
He also emphasized that the existing economic sanctions against Iran will remain in place until a new agreement is fully finalized and signed.
The U.S. maintains a firm stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The President reiterated that Iranian authorities must understand they will not be allowed to develop or acquire nuclear weapons.
Additionally, he criticized the previous nuclear deal established during former President Barack Obama’s administration, labeling it as a “direct path” to Iran building a nuclear arsenal.
Previously, Trump stated that a comprehensive agreement between Washington and Tehran is largely agreed upon. He noted that countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain are also involved in this historic compromise.
A key aspect of this agreement includes the complete opening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which is vital for the transportation of about 20% of the world’s oil and gas production.
Trump mentioned that he has had successful discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding this issue.
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during his visit to India, announced that “good news” on the diplomatic front is imminent. He indicated that significant progress has been made in resolving the crisis surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, although some complex issues remain unresolved.
The United States hopes to finalize the details and announce the outcomes of the negotiations soon.
